History of North Platte Nebraska

North Platte is a city in Lincoln County. It is located along Interstate 80 in the southwestern part of the state. North Platte is known as a railroad town and is home to the worlds largest railroad yard in the world; Bailey Yard. This day and age North Platte is served by freight trains, but during World War II North Platte was famous for the North Platte Canteen. Tens of thousands would volunteer to meet the troop trains passing through, offering coffee, sandwiches, and hospitality.

Cody Park

Cody Park is one of the many places you can take your family, starting in the early summer months all the way until the late summer months. They have concession stands with delicious icecream, and rides for the younger kids. Cody Park also has tennis courts, a pool, softball fields and numerous playgrounds. Cody Park is the home to many animals including: Geese, Ducks, Elk, Deer, Peacocks, and many other animals
